This policy explains what AskBibleAnswers collects when you use the site, why, and what choices you have. AskBibleAnswers is operated by an individual based in the United States. Contact: cristimaxinmihai@yahoo.com.
The short version. You can ask three questions a day without an account. After that, asking questions requires a free account, which needs only an email address and a password. We don't ask for your name, and we don't sell your data. Your questions are sent to an AI provider so it can answer them. When you are signed in, your questions and answers are saved to your account so a conversation can continue next time, and you can delete them at any time. We use analytics tools that record how pages are used — including a session-replay tool configured so that all text on the page is masked before it leaves your browser. If you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment and we never see your card number.
To ask questions you create an account with an email address and a password. Passwords are handled and stored in hashed form by Supabase, our authentication provider; we never see them in readable form. Linked to your account we also store: the number of questions you have asked today and the date of that count, your subscription status, the end date of your current subscription period, and a customer identifier supplied by Stripe.
The text of each question you ask is transmitted to our server and forwarded to our AI provider to generate an answer. Please avoid including sensitive personal details — health information, financial account numbers, government identifiers — in your questions.
When you are signed in, the questions you ask and the answers you receive are saved to your account. This is what allows a conversation to continue the next time you visit. Only the most recent messages are loaded back into the chat, and only recent messages are sent to the AI provider as context for a new question.
You can delete every saved message at any time using the Clear button above the chat. Deletion is immediate, although routine encrypted backups held by our database provider may retain a copy for a short period before they expire.
A Bible question is often a personal one. Please avoid including details you would not want stored, such as full names, addresses, or health and financial information. We access saved conversations only where it is necessary to operate the Service — for example to investigate a technical fault or a report of abuse — and we never send their text to advertising platforms.
When you create an account you can choose to receive follow-up emails about the questions you ask. If that option is selected, we may email you after you ask a question, and the email can include the text of that question. These emails are sent through Resend, our email delivery provider. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also reply to the email or contact us to stop them.

We use four analytics tools to understand how the site is used and where it is confusing or broken.
Clarity is configured in its strict masking mode. This means the text on the page — including anything you type into the chat box and the answers you receive — is replaced with blocks before the recording leaves your browser. We can see that a visitor typed a question and scrolled through an answer; we cannot read what the question or the answer said. Passwords and other input fields are masked in the same way.
These recordings are used only to improve the Service. We do not use them for advertising and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from them.
After you sign in, a session token is stored locally in your browser (using local storage, not tracking cookies) so that you stay signed in between visits. Signing out or clearing your browser data removes it. Your free-trial and daily-question counts are not kept in your browser — they are stored on our server and tied to your account.
If you subscribe, Stripe collects and processes your payment details directly. We receive only limited information from Stripe, such as your subscription status, billing email, and the last four digits and brand of your card. We never receive or store your full card number.
Our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. This is used to keep the site running securely and to diagnose errors.
You can ask three questions per day without creating an account. To apply that limit we store a hashed form of your IP address together with a date and a count. We do not store the IP address itself for this purpose, and the record is not linked to any account, question, or answer. Once you create an account, your usage is counted against the account instead.
We share information only with the service providers needed to operate AskBibleAnswers:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. If the Service is ever transferred to a new owner, information may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
Your account information is kept for as long as your account exists. Saved conversations are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted. You may ask us to delete your account and the data attached to it at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to keep records for tax or legal reasons. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider and then deleted or rotated. Session recordings and analytics data are retained by our analytics providers according to their own retention periods and are then deleted automatically. Questions sent to our AI provider are retained according to that provider's own retention practices. Billing records are kept by Stripe as long as required by tax and accounting law.
AskBibleAnswers uses browser local storage to keep you signed in, as described above. Microsoft Clarity sets its own first-party cookies so that it can recognise a continuing session and distinguish new visitors from returning ones. Vercel Web Analytics does not set cookies. Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention and payment security. Google Analytics and the Meta pixel set their own cookies, and the Meta cookie is an advertising cookie. Meta may use it to measure ads and to build advertising audiences, except where the Limited Data Use setting described in section 8 applies.
You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Clarity by using your browser's Do Not Track or equivalent privacy settings, or by using an ad- and tracker-blocking extension. Blocking them does not affect your ability to use AskBibleAnswers.
AskBibleAnswers is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information, email us and we will delete it.
Under the CCPA and CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
This site uses the Meta advertising pixel, which reports page views and a signal when a question is asked. Under California law that may count as "sharing." We do not sell personal information for money, and we never send the text of your questions or answers to any advertising platform.
For visitors that Meta identifies as being in California or another U.S. state with similar opt-out rights, we send the pixel with Meta's Limited Data Use flag enabled, which instructs Meta to handle that data as a service provider and not to use it to build advertising audiences. You can also block the pixel entirely with any content blocker, or adjust the ad settings in your own Meta account.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing are performance of a contract (providing the Service you requested), consent (follow-up emails you chose to receive) and legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and understanding and improving how the Service is used).

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
We use HTTPS encryption in transit and rely on established providers for hosting and payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
